Program Description

This workshop will give participants the opportunity to learn to draw their own comics, mini comics, graphic novels, or manga. It is open to all levels of ability from absolute beginner to the ambitious cartoonist who wishes to publish their work.

The workshop provides tailored instruction for those who would like more structure and is also an informal session for those who are self-guided or who would like to just sketch. In addition to drawing instruction, we will also have “show and tell” where we talk about the comics we are reading and analyze the storytelling techniques used by the cartoonists.

To join this online program, you will need a computer, tablet or phone with a camera and microphone. The link to join the event will be emailed to registrants. A phone number will be included to allow you to use a phone as speaker and microphone, if necessary. 

Library events and programs are open to the public and provided at no cost. Special accommodations may be requested using our Accommodation Request Form no later than 15 days prior to the event.
