Rep. Dan Newhouse, U.S. Congressman representing Washington’s 4th district since 2015, recently used his social media platform to address issues ranging from wildfire response to agricultural security and fiscal responsibility.
On September 3, 2025, Newhouse highlighted a development in wildfire management, stating, “This is a huge victory for wildfire fighters and American taxpayers. We need a reliable supply chain for retardant when the demand comes, and @SecRollins has secured a long-term agreement that will make these resources readily available.”
The following day, on September 4, he addressed legislative efforts related to government spending: “.@HouseAppropsGOP is back at work to ensure we are being good stewards of taxpayer dollars, and this legislation focuses on strengthening the institutions those taxpayers rely on.”
On September 5, Newhouse turned his attention to the agriculture sector with a warning about foreign threats: “The newest threat to the agriculture industry is not a pest or a weed, but our greatest foreign adversary.”
Dan Newhouse has represented Washington’s 4th District in Congress since succeeding Doc Hastings in 2015. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Washington House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. Born in Sunnyside, Washington in 1955 and currently residing there at age 67, Newhouse graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1977.
