The following day, on February 18, 2025, he expressed his apprehensions regarding research influencing the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. On February 19, 2025, Rep. Newhouse reported engaging with regional agricultural associations about labor issues and developments within the USDA under the new administration. He noted: “It was great catching up with the Washington State Tree Fruit Association and Northwest Horticulture to talk labor challenges and developments at USDA in the new administration.”
