U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse, who represents Washington’s 4th district in Congress, used his social media platform this week to recognize law enforcement officers during National Police Week and to highlight an energy summit held in Central Washington.

On May 11, Newhouse posted: “This National Police Week, join me in thanking our officers for their bravery and dedication to the safety of our families and communities. We honor and remember all officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty and I am thankful for those in law enforcement who keep https://t.co/P0WUxcydEY”. The message called on the public to show appreciation for police officers’ service and sacrifice.

The following day, Newhouse shared details about a recent gathering focused on regional energy issues. On May 12, he wrote: “Yesterday, I was pleased to convene dozens of industry leaders, state legislators, and stakeholders in Moses Lake for a Central Washington Energy Summit. From the only nuclear power reactor in the region to abundant hydropower on the Columbia and Snake Rivers, Washingtonians https://t.co/ULfGde3V0t”. In a subsequent post on May 12, he provided further information with: “Read more here: https://t.co/voWovruFwx”.

Dan Newhouse has represented Washington’s 4th district since 2015 after succeeding Doc Hastings. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Washington House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009. Born in Sunnyside, Washington in 1955, Newhouse is a graduate of Washington State University (1977) and continues to reside in Sunnyside.
