Getting ready to bring in the New Year?  Fireworks are a fun way to make ringing in the New year a spectacular event.  But fireworks are not safe for children and can cause serious harm including devastating burns and other injuries. More than 3,000 children under the age of 15 are sent to the emergency room each year in the United States because of fireworks. A great alternative to sparklers for little hands are glow sticks! Kids love glow sticks!  Have a safe and Happy New Year from all of us at Ellensburg Police Department.
