Reps. Gloria Mendoza and Deb Manjarrez announced on April 10 that they will hold in-person town hall meetings later this month for residents of the 14th District. The events are scheduled for April 27 in Yakima and April 28 in Toppenish, offering constituents a chance to engage directly with their state lawmakers.
The town halls aim to provide updates on topics such as the state budget, taxes, agriculture, housing, the drug crisis, public safety, local infrastructure investment, and support for families, farms, and small businesses. Lawmakers said they will also take questions from attendees during these sessions.
The Yakima Town Hall will be held at Excel Youth Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., where Mendoza and Manjarrez will be joined by Reps. Chris Corry and Jeremie Dufault from the neighboring 15th Legislative District. The following evening’s meeting in Toppenish is set for Astria Toppenish Hospital at the same time.
“These town halls are about accountability and accessibility,” said Mendoza. “We want to report back on the 2026 session that ended March 12 and listen to the people we represent, especially our families, farmers, and small businesses here in the valley.”
Manjarrez said: “People deserve to know how decisions in Olympia affect their daily lives and what we did to support them. This is a chance to ask questions, share concerns, and have a direct conversation with your lawmakers.”
Corry added: “I’m excited to join my colleagues for the Yakima town hall and hear directly from residents about the issues that matter most. These conversations help shape better policy for our region.” Dufault emphasized community engagement by saying: “Town halls are one of the best ways to connect with constituents and have meaningful conversations. I look forward to being part of the discussion.”
