Reps. Gloria Mendoza and Deb Manjarrez, both Republicans from the 14th District, spoke with Dave Ettl and the morning crew on KIT Radio in Yakima on April 27 to discuss the results of the 2026 legislative session.
The representatives addressed concerns about increasing costs for Central Washington families, which they said are linked to state policies such as taxes, energy regulations, and housing affordability. They also pointed out what they described as a growing disconnect between Olympia lawmakers and communities east of the Cascades.
Both Manjarrez and Mendoza said public involvement is important in shaping policy decisions. They encouraged residents to participate in town halls and engage directly with their elected officials.
The discussion aimed to inform constituents about recent legislative developments that could impact their daily lives. The lawmakers reiterated their commitment to representing local interests at the state level.
Looking ahead, Manjarrez and Mendoza urged continued community engagement as new policies are implemented.
