Reps. Gloria Mendoza and Deb Manjarrez, both Republicans from the 14th District, appeared on KIT Radio with Dave Ettl and the morning crew in Yakima on April 27 to talk about the results of the 2026 legislative session.

The lawmakers said that state policies are leading to higher costs for Central Washington families. They mentioned taxes, energy regulations, and housing affordability as major concerns. Mendoza and Manjarrez said there is a growing disconnect between Olympia decision-makers and communities east of the Cascades.

During their appearance, both representatives encouraged residents to get involved in public discussions about legislation. They urged people to attend town halls and communicate directly with lawmakers.

The conversation highlighted how policy decisions made at the state level can affect local communities. The representatives said it is important for citizens to be informed about these issues so they can have a say in future decisions.

Looking ahead, Mendoza and Manjarrez said continued public engagement will be necessary as new policies are considered.
