Rep. Dan Newhouse, serving Washington’s 4th district, recently shared his observations on significant developments affecting his constituents through a series of social media posts.

On April 7, 2025, Newhouse commented on a decision made by the Army Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation to pause the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) indefinitely. He described it as a positive development for the Pacific Northwest. In his words, “This announcement by the Army Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation to indefinitely pause the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) initiated by the previous administration is a win for the Pacific Northwest. The Lower Snake River Dams are vital to our”.

On April 8, 2025, Newhouse announced the relaunch of a bipartisan initiative alongside Rep. Chellie Pingree. He stated, “Today @chelliepingree and I relaunched the bipartisan Congressional Food Recovery Caucus to combat food loss and waste in our nation.” The initiative is aimed at addressing the issues of food loss and waste.

The following day, on April 9, 2025, Newhouse extended his congratulations to Washington State University President Dr. Kirk Schulz on his retirement. Emphasizing Schulz’s contributions, he noted, “Proud to join the WA delegation in congratulating WSU President Dr. Kirk Schulz on his retirement! His leadership strengthened WSU’s reputation as a world-class research institution, and we thank him for his dedication to its success.”
