Project to Close Section of Englewood Avenue

0Comments

A section of Englewood Avenue will be closed three days next week for a project to improve the roadway surface.

Englewood Avenue will be closed between 56th Avenue and 49th Avenue from 7:00 am on Monday, October 17th, through 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 19th. The project will

involve grinding and overlaying the asphalt on that section of Englewood Avenue.

Detour routes will be in effect and posted to assist drivers. Access  will be maintained for residents and businesses in the area, as well as  emergency vehicles.

Because of heavy traffic volume, drivers can expect delays in the  project area. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the  work is completed.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change  daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
