Selah Medicaid spending on vision services climbs to $861 in 2024

In 2024, providers in Selah billed $861 to Medicaid for services within the Vision Services category, data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Medicaid Provider Spending database shows. That represented a 202.1% jump from 2023, when $285 in claims were filed for comparable services.

From 2020 through 2024, Vision Services-related Medicaid payments in Selah grew by $861, or 0%. The pace of spending picked up especially during select periods, with year-over-year upticks notably in 2023 and 2022.

Though spending was distributed citywide, a small number of ZIP codes accounted for the bulk of Medicaid values in Vision Services. In 2024, ZIP code 98942 stood out with a total of $861, making up 100% of Medicaid payments in this category in the city for the year.

A limited set of billing codes within the Vision Services category comprised the majority of Medicaid payments during this span.

To compare, the 202.1% boost in Vision Services Medicaid payments in Selah from 2023 to 2024 outpaced the overall growth across all Medicaid claim categories in the city during the same time, which was 28.4%.
