78 percent of applicants to Central Washington University were admitted for fall 2018

At Central Washington University, 81 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 52 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Ellensburg enrolled 12,342 students in fall 2018, including 11,419 in undergraduate and 923 in graduate programs, data shows. 11.6 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

92 percent of undergraduates are residents of Washington, and 7 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (50 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (16 percent).

The school admitted 78 percent of the 10,148 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 28 percent enrolled.
