The Downtown Association of Yakima (DAY) is pleased to announce the return of two of its major downtown events: the annual Roots & Vines Festival, and the weekly summer concert series Downtown Summer Nights. After the pandemic caused the cancellation of both events for two consecutive years, the current environment allows for these two popular events to return close to their usual form for the summer of 2022.
For this one summer, Roots & Vines will be moved to Saturday, June 25, at its usual location Historic N. Front Street, and its usual time 4 – 10 p.m. Visit the Roots & Vines website for ticket information.
Downtown Summer Nights will begin the second Thursday in June (June 9). The free concert series will run from 5:30 to 9 pm each Thursday through August 11, taking one week off, June 23, in preparation for Roots & Vines.
“We know that the community has truly missed these events and has waited with much anticipation to hear of their status for this year, “said DAY Executive Director, Andrew Holt. “So, it is with great pleasure that we can announce plans for their return and that they will occur without any major restrictions, barring any unforeseen developments.” Holt added, “The change in the Roots & Vines date is due to the delays caused by the pandemic and some scheduling conflicts. We expect another year of quality bands, great craft beverages and delicious food vendors for both Roots & Vines, and Downtown Summer Nights.”
The music lineup for Downtown Summer Nights (5:30 to 9 pm) features:
- June 9 M-Status / Michael Carbrera
