The Yakima Sunfair Parade will follow its familiar route of more than one-and-a-half miles through Downtown Yakima on Saturday, September 24th.
The parade begins at 10:00 am and is anticipated to last until 1:00 pm. It is expected to attract about 10,000 spectators. The parade will include about 1,000 participants and 200
vehicles as it makes its way down Yakima Avenue from 16th Avenue to Naches Avenue.
The parade route will be closed to traffic, and side streets along the parade route will also be closed to through traffic while the parade is underway. As the last entries in the parade
pass by the closed side streets, they will be reopened to traffic.
In addition, 16th Avenue will be closed to traffic for parade staging from Summitview Avenue to W. Nob Hill Boulevard from 6:00 am until approximately 12:30 pm on Saturday. Yakima
Avenue will be closed to all traffic from N. 16th Avenue to 6th Street from 9:00 am until approximately 1:00 pm.
There will be detours in place to help drivers navigate around these street closures.
