Dan Newhouse, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Washington's 4th district, shared a series of tweets on recent political developments and initiatives. A Republican with a background in agriculture and state politics, Newhouse has been vocal about issues concerning labor, government funding, and public safety.

On March 10, 2025, Newhouse congratulated Lori Chavez-Deremer on her confirmation as the next Secretary of Labor. He expressed his eagerness to collaborate with her to enhance the farm workforce and boost the economy. "Congratulations to my friend Lori Chavez-Deremer on being confirmed as the next Secretary of Labor of the United States! Looking forward to working together to strengthen our farm workforce and bolster our economy!"

In a tweet dated March 11, 2025, Newhouse commented on the passage of a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government funded. He praised Speaker Johnson for maintaining government operations and avoiding disruptions in critical services. "While a CR is never my first choice in ensuring the government remains funded, I applaud @SpeakerJohnson for his leadership in keeping the government working and preventing the disruption of critical services for those in need."

Later that day, Newhouse announced new legislation aimed at combating fentanyl trafficking through a federal Joint Taskforce. This bipartisan effort seeks to address what he described as a crisis needing urgent attention. "Today I introduced bipartisan, bicameral legislation establishing a federal Joint Taskforce to combat the trafficking of fentanyl and execute a coordinated effort to get this crisis under control."
