The annual Symposium of University Research and Creative Expression (SOURCE) will return to the Student Union and Recreation Center this week, according to a May 18 announcement from Central Washington University. The event is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, May 20-21, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will highlight student research, creative projects, and artistic performances across all academic disciplines.

The symposium offers undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to present their work through posters, oral presentations, exhibitions, and live performances. Organized by the Office of University Research (OUR), SOURCE is now in its thirty-first year.

“The symposium is a testament of CWU’s commitment to hands-on learning, student success, and the transformative power of dedicated faculty mentorship,” OUR Director Yerin Kim said.

Members of both the Central Washington University community and Ellensburg residents are invited to attend the event. Organizers say it serves as a showcase for emerging talent as well as groundbreaking research. A calendar detailing events and locations is available in this Flipping Book.

Attendees can engage directly with student researchers and artists during the two-day program. Industry professionals, community leaders, and academic peers are also encouraged to participate as volunteer judges—providing feedback that organizers say is vital for student professional development.

The university invites everyone interested in celebrating academic achievement to join in recognizing these accomplishments. For questions about SOURCE or further information on participation or attendance, individuals may contact source@cwu.edu.
