0Comments

A tree removal project require closing a section of 5th Avenue next Tuesday, July 5th.

From 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, 5th Avenue will be closed between D Street and Cherry Avenue for the tree removal.

Access will be maintained as much as possible to homes and businesses  in the project area. Flaggers will be on site and detours will be  posted. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if  necessary.

The repairs may cause interruptions or delays in scheduled refuse  collection. Contact the City of Yakima Refuse Division at 509-575-6005  for more information.

Because of heavy traffic volume, drivers can expect delays in the  project area. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the  work is completed.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change  daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For more information about the project, contact Acting Street Maintenance Supervisor Jay Kendall at 509-576-6443.
