We responded to a residential structure fire
0Comments

We responded to a residential structure fire Tuesday at 11 pm in the 4600 block of Powerhouse Rd. #firefighters quickly suppressed it, limiting damage to $5,000. There were no injuries. It was caused by a portable heater.
With this in mind, please remember to:
– use caution with heating devices
– ensure power sources are used properly and working safely
– not use an extension cord to connect a space heater
– keep anything that can burn at least 3 feet from heating equipment
– Also, we remind you to not use the oven to warm a room. This is a fire hazard and dangerous, especially for children.
Please stay safe #yakima
