The Yakima Parks and Recreation Department is thinking outside the box this summer to keep the public entertained as facilities are closed to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the city takes advantage of social media and the city website, there are a number of activities designed to appeal to all ages, according to a press release from the city.
Sports enthusiasts have the opportunity to take advantage of training videos posted online to keep their games sharp and develop skills.
On a less competitive scale, there are activities for children and families that include crafts and fitness. There are water safety programs and sometime special for the older residents in the city. Virtual trips will be created and placed on Facebook, allowing Senior Citizens to visit new places without leaving the comforts of their home, according to the press release.
Those who want to get out of the house can visit Fisher Park Golf Course where social distancing practices are employed. For additional information, visit yakimaparks.com.
