As restaurants are allowed to offer limited outdoor seating while under Phase 1, the City of Yakima Planning Division is providing direction for restaurants to follow to keep their workers and patrons safe, according to a press release from the city's website.
Some of the guidelines include: having access to, yet keeping enough distance from, utilities like poles, fire hydrants, and sewer manholes, keeping ADA parking spaces and sidewalk ramps available and reaching out to the Codes Division for any questions or concerns about the outdoor capacity.
Restaurants were also instructed to give the City of Yakima Planning and Codes Divisions a Site Plan or an Aerial Photograph which would display the seating area. The business name and WA State UBI Number, address and authorization also have to be included.
The city also noted that changes have to complete a Modification via the Planning Division and possibly get a building permit.
