CITY OF YAKIMA: Signal Improvements to Impact 56th Avenue and Summitview Avenue

Roadworkahead 1000x667

City of Yakima issued the following announcement on Dec. 21.

Traffic will be restricted at the intersection of 56 th Avenue and Summitview Avenue tomorrow, Tuesday, December 22nd for traffic signal improvements. Eastbound and northbound lanes at the intersection will be restricted to one lane during the project work hours of 7:30 am to 4:00 pm tomorrow. Crews will install a new traffic signal shaft and arm so the signal can accommodate a bigger radius in the future. The traffic signal will not be operating during the project and flaggers will be on site to direct traffic. Because of heavy traffic volume, drivers can expect delays in the project area. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed. Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour. As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies. For more information about the project, contact Streets and Traffic Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.
