Summer courses at Yakima Valley College offer a flexible, convenient and affordable opportunity for individuals looking to achieve their professional or personal goals.
During Summer Quarter, YVC offers a wide range of asynchronous online classes, which do not have a specific meeting day or time, so that you can learn from anywhere and study when it’s most convenient for you. Some online courses meet during specific days and times. In addition, in-person courses in some subjects are available on YVC’s Yakima and Grandview campuses.
Summer Quarter 2022 begins June 27 and ends August 16, meaning you’ll be able to earn college credits in only eight weeks, faster than the standard 10-week courses offered during other quarters at YVC. Learn more about YVC summer course options and select “Class Search” or “Browse Classes” to view offerings by subject.
Summer Quarter registration takes place on a first-come, first-served basis and students can register through the second day of the quarter, June 28. Individuals who are not current YVC students can register online.
Transferrable Classes & Job-Specific Training
Community college classes can seamlessly transfer to a four-year university, so taking YVC summer courses to fulfill prerequisites at another school can save you money on tuition and fees. Or, if you’re looking to make a career change and want to get training for an in-demand job right away, YVC offers dozens of professional-technical programs that can prepare you for a career that pays well.
Funding Available
Continuing your education is an investment that doesn’t have to break the bank. YVC offers a variety of financial aid options, including for students who are unemployed, underemployed or low-income, as well as those who are looking to re-enter the workforce or train for an entirely new career. Yakima Valley College offers a full-service financial aid office with experienced staff to help guide you. Learn more about funding options at YVC.
