Representative Dan Newhouse, currently serving Washington's 4th congressional district, has recently expressed pride and a commitment to legislative priorities through a series of social media posts. Since replacing his predecessor Doc Hastings in 2015, Newhouse has been active in both local and national issues. Born in Sunnyside, Washington in 1955, Newhouse graduated from Washington State University with a degree in agricultural economics.

On April 9, he shared the news of meeting “Jeffrey Noah, the winner of the Congressional App Challenge for Washington's Fourth District.” Noah's app, named Canari, aims to aid the agricultural sector by addressing crop issues, thereby safeguarding the food supply. Newhouse extended his congratulations to Jeffrey for his accomplishment.

In a post dated April 10, Newhouse addressed legislative proceedings by noting, “Passing the budget resolution unlocks the next step in the reconciliation process allowing Congress to reduce federal spending, lower inflation, and advance a conservative agenda to get our country back on track.” Emphasizing the challenge ahead, he urged for Republican unity in this endeavor.

Later the same day, Newhouse expressed his involvement in election security matters, stating he was “Proud to join my colleagues in protecting American elections!”.

Dan Newhouse's dedication to both his district and national issues can be traced back to his background in agriculture and his long-standing service record, both as a congressional representative and a former member of the Washington House of Representatives.
